Malaysia's premier fashion event returns this August as Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) 2026 takes over the city from 3 to 9 August 2026. Now in its 14th season, KLFW brings the runway back to the Golden Triangle, with its iconic show space set against the backdrop of the Petronas Twin Towers and within easy reach of the Bukit Bintang shopping district.
Malaysia's Biggest Fashion Showcase
Founded in 2013 by Andrew Tan, KLFW was created as a platform for Malaysian designers to present ready-to-wear collections to buyers, the press, and the general public. What began as a modest showcase has grown into a major event attracting over 150,000 people across the week, featuring the largest lineup of designers in the country.
The 2026 edition continues that trajectory with more than 55 local and international designers and brands confirmed. The roster blends fashion mainstays, daring new talents, and much-anticipated veteran comebacks, offering a comprehensive cross-section of Malaysian and regional fashion.
The Venue and Experience
KLFW 2026 will once again transform the Esplanade at KLCC Park into a sleek, modern show space. A custom-built, single-storey monochrome structure will house the main show hall, multiple runways, dedicated guest arrivals, and interactive activation zones. Each ticketed show seats approximately 500 invited guests, while a large LED screen broadcasts runway livestreams to the public for free, meaning fashion fans can catch every collection without a ticket.
The event's proximity to Bukit Bintang means visitors can combine a fashion week visit with shopping at Pavilion KL, Lot 10, and Fahrenheit 88, all within a short walk or quick ride on the Kelana Jaya LRT line.
What to See on the Runway
KLFW has built its reputation on championing Malaysian heritage textiles alongside contemporary design. Previous editions have spotlighted songket reimagined by designers like Sofia Iman, natural-dye heritage work from Muni, and the AirAsia Design to Sustain segment showcasing upcycled couture from worn curtains, old bedsheets, and repurposed leather.
Expect to see established names like Rizman Ruzaini, Kit Woo, Fiziwoo, Syomirizwa Gupta, Behati, and Farah Khan alongside returning favourites such as Ezzati Amira, Hatta Dolmat, Mimpikita, and Private Stitch. Rising stars and KLFW Designer Search winners will also take the stage, ensuring a mix of avant-garde pieces, modest fashion, and wearable art that reflects Malaysia's multicultural identity.
Beyond the runway, visitors can explore brand activation zones from partners like L'Oréal Paris, Vivo, Poh Kong, MOCCONA, and Skechers, plus pop-up installations and fashion exhibitions at Suria KLCC.
