Mid-Autumn Festival falls on 25 September 2026. Pavilion KL published its Moonlit Indulgence gift-box round-up on 2 September, with tenant copy last checked on 20 August. That is the mall's own list, not a blog roundup of the whole Klang Valley. If you are shopping in Bukit Bintang, this is the floor-by-floor cheat sheet.
Start with the Chinese restaurants if you want lotus paste and yolks. Canton Court is selling baked and snow-skin boxes. Dai Cha Dim's tie-up with Grand Harbour uses four named boxes: Rosy Reverie, Crimson Celeste, Lunar Lustre, and Sunset Scarlet. Grand Imperial, which sits on Level 6, is on the same mall list with a premium collection aimed at family and client gifting. Din Tai Fung is not doing classic lotus boxes here. The mall copy flags Classic Pineapple Cake, Salted Egg Yolk, and Longan Cake gift sets instead. Read the card on the counter. People still walk up asking for double-yolk lotus and leave empty-handed.
The boxes that are not traditional lotus
Dragon-i Peking Duck is the loudest local-flavour play: Musang King frosty mooncakes, plus two new skins, Matcha Red Bean Mochi and Black Sesame Yam Delight. Famous Amos stuffed crushed cookies into every filling for a Moonlit in Bloom set. That will taste like a cookie more than a mooncake, which is either the point or a warning, depending on your aunties.
Godiva is running chocolate Mid-Autumn flavours, including Apricot Almond Caramel and Walnut Cinnamon. Venchi's Moonstream Collection is the other chocolate house on the list, with a Pavilion KL store already in the mall. ROYCE' pairs a Chocoman mooncake with its Hokkaido Autumn chocolates. Starbucks packaged this year's set in a Petite Travel Case. Those last three are grab-and-go if you already have a coffee or chocolate stop on the same trip.
HWC Coffee's MOONVEIL box is the galaxy-themed collectible: gold, stars, a glowing moon. Lavender's Light of Reunion set has a built-in light, limited stock. JYNNS put four dark chocolate mooncakes with Martell Cognac next to a 35cl Martell VSOP. That one is a liquor gift, not a children's box. Pavilion marks several of these tenants with a non-halal star on the same page. If that matters to the person you are buying for, check the star before you queue.
Ralph's Coffee, TWG, and the hotel box
Ralph's Coffee, on the Pavilion KL directory, is selling six mini mooncakes in a green-and-white camper-van box with a Polo Bear-ista. Flavours are Salted Butter Scotch Brownie and Coffee Custard Yolk in Chocolate Skin, three pieces each. Harper's Bazaar Malaysia had the set at RM338 during the pre-order window, which closed 24 August. Regular sale runs to 25 September at the Pavilion store, plus Shopee and Lazada if the counter is wiped out. The van lights up. It is a shelf object after the cakes are gone, which is why the pre-order sold.
TWG Tea's Miss Tea collection has four baked cakes: Constellation, Harvest, Jewel, and Eclipse. Harvest is matcha red bean with a matcha lava centre. Eclipse is black sesame lotus with Caramel Tea and a mochi heart. Pavilion Hotel Kuala Lumpur and Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur share an Urban Moonrise collection tied to Visit Malaysia 2026, skyline-printed boxes, handcrafted cakes. Pavilion Lluxe and Diamond members get 15 percent off those hotel cakes, mall terms apply. Oriental Kopi's Flowers in Full Moon box and Oloiya's Centennial Moonlight set round out the more traditional pastry counters.
Do the boring logistics. Mid-Autumn is a Friday this year. Hotel and restaurant counters run out of the pretty boxes first, then the spare cakes. If you need a set for 25 September, buy this week, not on the 24th. Pavilion KL is at 168 Jalan Bukit Bintang. Bukit Bintang MRT and the Monorail are the cleanest arrival.
