YAYOI's First Hamburg Teppan Fair at Lot 10 Runs Until 30 September
YAYOI has launched its first-ever Hamburg dishes in Malaysia, and the Teppan Fair 2026 running from 1 July to 30 September is the vehicle for the rollout. The Japanese teishoku restaurant chain is serving the new Hamburg series at its Lot 10 outlet in Bukit Bintang, alongside three other teppan set meals. The three-month run makes this the longest limited-time menu YAYOI Malaysia has run this year, and the Hamburg dishes are positioned as a global launch rather than a local-only special.
The Hamburg series: two new set meals at RM39.50
The headline of the Teppan Fair is the introduction of Hamburg dishes to the YAYOI Malaysia menu for the first time. Hamburg is the Japanese take on the hamburger steak, a ground-meat patty cooked and served with sauce rather than in a bun. YAYOI is serving two Hamburg teishoku (set meals), both priced at RM39.50 and both served sizzling on a hot plate with onions, vegetables, and potato wedges:
- Teppan Teriyaki Hamburg with Tartar Sauce Teishoku (RM39.50) - a Japanese-style hamburger steak glazed with teriyaki sauce and topped with tartar sauce
- Teppan Hamburg with Garlic Tomato Sauce Teishoku (RM39.50) - a Japanese-style hamburger steak topped with garlic, mushrooms, and tomato sauce
The teriyaki and tartar combination is the richer of the two, with the tartar adding a creamy, slightly acidic counter to the sweet teriyaki glaze. The garlic tomato version leans more savoury, with the mushroom and garlic building depth on the tomato base. Both are served on the teppan, meaning the hot plate keeps the patty sizzling at the table.
The non-Hamburg teppan options
Beyond the two Hamburg dishes, the fair adds two more teppan set meals that are not Hamburg-based. These give the menu breadth for diners who want the teppan experience without the hamburger steak:
- Teppan Garlic Pepper Beef Teishoku (RM36.20) - sliced beef sauteed with garlic and mushrooms in pepper sauce, served sizzling with vegetables and potato wedges
- Teppan Lemon Teriyaki Chicken Teishoku (RM36.20) - grilled chicken topped with teriyaki sauce and lemon slices, served sizzling with onions, vegetables, and potato wedges
The beef and chicken teppan sets are priced slightly below the Hamburg dishes, reflecting the difference in protein cost. All four dishes are teishoku, meaning they come as complete set meals with rice, soup, and other standard YAYOI teishoku accompaniments, not just the hot plate.
Where to eat it and how to order
The Teppan Fair is available at the YAYOI outlet at Lot 10, Bukit Bintang, which is the YAYOI branch most accessible to visitors staying or shopping in the Bukit Bintang area. Lot 10 Shopping Centre is on Jalan Sultan Ismail, a short walk from the Bukit Bintang Monorail station and within walking distance of the Bukit Bintang MRT station on the Kajang Line. The fair is also running at YAYOI's other Malaysia outlets, including The Gardens at Mid Valley, The Waterfront at Desa ParkCity, IOI City Mall, Setia City Mall, and Central i-City.
The dishes are available for both dine-in and GrabFood delivery, so visitors who want the teppan experience at home or in a hotel can order through the delivery platform. The sizzling hot plate is, of course, a dine-in experience. The three-month run through 30 September 2026 gives a long window, but the Hamburg series is a limited-time launch, so there is no guarantee it becomes a permanent menu fixture. YAYOI is the number one teishoku chain in Japan, with over 300 outlets, and the Teppan Fair is the brand's way of introducing a new protein format to its Malaysian customers.
