MINISO's Sanrio Sun-Kissed pop-up takes Pavilion KL's Centre Court from 31 August to 6 September 2026. That is seven days, including National Day, in the mall that sits on Jalan Bukit Bintang. Launch day is 31 August from 10am, with the usual first-come gifts. After 6 September the same collection moves to IOI City Mall in Putrajaya from 21 to 30 September. If you want it in Bukit Bintang, the window is this week.
What is on the tables
The theme is beach Sanrio. Hello Kitty, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, My Melody, in brown and sun-faded colours rather than the usual pink blast. MINISO Malaysia's own posts list a surfing vinyl plush blind box, a dark-skin Hello Kitty plush pendant blind box, sitting-posture plush, head-shape pillows, and summer ornaments. Gaya Travel and The Smart Local both logged the same SKU spread: Kuromi keychains, Hello Kitty beach bags, Cinnamoroll bracelets, puzzle sets, a Hello Kitty x Cinnamoroll umbrella, hats and clogs.
Spend mechanics from MINISO Malaysia as of 24 August:
- Every order: exclusive pop-up shopping bag
- Every RM100: acrylic puzzle charm or acrylic charm clip
- Every RM250: drawstring backpack
- RM150 and above: Sanrio photobooth, one session per receipt, 31 August to 5 September, 10am to 10pm
Gifts can mix against the receipt total. Launch day on 31 August adds extra fans and coupons while stocks last. Line-up from 10am if you care about those. Centre Court will be ugly at opening. That is the deal.
How to do Pavilion without wasting the rest of the street
Pavilion KL is 168 Jalan Bukit Bintang. Bukit Bintang MRT (Kajang Line) and Bukit Bintang Monorail both dump you within a short walk. The pop-up is Centre Court, not a unit in the fashion floors, so you see it as soon as you hit the atrium. Photobooth slots will clog. If you only want merch, go on a weekday after 6 September's first two days have skimmed the collectors.
Pavilion is also running a Merdeka campaign through 16 September: spend RM200 in a single receipt and redeem a Pavilion x Visit Malaysia 2026 canvas bag at the Porte Cochere concierge on Level 2, two designs, while stocks last. That is a separate queue from MINISO. Sungei Wang, a few minutes down the road, still has Bazaar Merdeka x Moonfest until 13 September, 10am to 10pm, between Gajeto and QQ Outlet. Use that if the pop-up is a 20-minute browse and you still want a market.
After 6 September
The collection leaves Bukit Bintang. Putrajaya is not this neighbourhood. Do not assume a restock in Lot 10 or Fahrenheit88. If a character you want is gone on 5 September, you are chasing Putrajaya or whatever MINISO keeps in regular stores, which will not match the pop-up exclusive bags and photobooth.
Eat on Jalan Alor or inside Pavilion after. This is a merch stop, not a day plan. The mall's Mid-Autumn atrium programme is listed for 25 September, after this pop-up is already gone.
